New Market Volunteers set to host Chicken BBQ Fundraiser

The New Market District Volunteer Fire Company is set to host a BBQ Chicken Fundraiser at their station on Saturday August 11th, 2018 starting at 11AM until 7PM or until sold out. The price for a chicken dinner will be $12 for a platter or $6 for 1/4 pieces. A meal includes 1/4 Chicken BBQ, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans and Soda or Tea. The New Market Volunteers are set to hold a $11,000.00 Vegas Mega Bingo on Friday, August 10, 2018. Doors open at 5:00 PM and games start at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $70 in advance and $80 at the door. Dinner and drinks are included. Special games pay $500 and regular games pay $200. Large Jackpot is $1,600 and Small Jackpot is $800. Tip jars and holder will also be available. Engine Responds to Unionville House Fire

On Thursday July 26th at 2333 hours, Box 17-24 was alerted for the house on fire in the 14500 block of Black Ankle Road near Unionville. The initial units on scene reported a single family home fully involved upon arrival and requested a rapid intervention dispatch and tanker task force. E152 (Capt. New Market Volunteers Send Two Boats to Assist with Carroll County Flooding

On Wednesday, July 25th, heavy rains pounded the region, and in particular caused major small stream flooding in Westminster, MD. Carroll County departments were quickly overwhelmed with the number of water rescue calls they were receiving for vehicles and residents stranded in floodwater. On Tuesday July 24th at 2300 hours, units from New Market along with Medic 23 were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment in the 4800 block of Mussetter Road in Ijamsville. On Thursday, July 12th at 1316 hours, Box 15-7 was alerted for the house fire in the 6100 block of Detrick Road. E152 (DFRS Capt. Davis), RS15 (DFC Kennedy), A159 (DFRS), B156 (Tech. A Statement Regarding our Door to Door Fundrasier

We have received several complaints and concerns over the past few days about our on-going door-to-door fundraising campaign. The NMDVFC employs a third-party company to raise funds on our behalf, as we do not have the time to do this sort of manpower intensive fundraising with department members. On Tuesday July 10th at 1455 hours New Market and Mount Airy units were dispatched to Interstate 70 westbound near the 68 mile marker for a vehicle accident with rollover. A159 (DFRS), RS15 (Capt.
