On Sunday February 12th at 2040 hours Box 33-4 was struck for the "house on fire" on Ritchie Court in the Holly Hills subdivision. RE153(Lt. Kilby), ET154(Sgt. Lawson), U15(B. Thews), and C15(Nalborczyk) responded on the box with 13 personnel. While en route, units were advised by ECC that they had received multiple calls reporting fire through the roof. First arriving units found a large 2 story house with fire through the roof on side C. C15 arrived and established the Ritchie Court Command. E331 initiated an interior attack through the front door but were evacuated moments later due to rapidly deteriorating conditions and collapse of the roof. Company 15 units arrived seconds behind company 33 and deployed a line to protect the side B exposure and several large diameter attack lines to both sides A and C. Additionally TR41 arrived and set up for ladder pipe operations. Crews knocked down the bulk of the fire and were allowed to reenter about 30 minutes later. Crews performed extensive salvage and overhaul operations on the 1st and 2nd floors and the basement. A fire task force was requested by command for additional manpower about an hour into the call. Crews assisted the FM's office until 0030 hours and cleared the scene by 0100 hours. Good job by all involved.
