Just as the sun was rising on Easter Morning, Sunday April 8th, NMDVFD stations 15 & 25 and surrounding companies were alerted for the house fire with reported entrapment in the 11400 block of Weller Road. RE153(Lt. Laird), ET154(Sgt. Thews), and CAR15(Capt. Lawson) responded quickly with 11 personnel. Units were advised enroute to the scene by communications that the deck was on fire and possibly a wheelchair bound resident still in the house. ET254(Lt. Wade) arrived to find a single story rancher style house with smoke showing from the rear. ET254 laid a supply line from the end of the driveway and stretched a crosslay to the rear. A259's crew proceeded inside to search for the trapped occupant. CAR15 arrived and established the Weller Road command. RE153 arrived next and picked up ET254's line as the crew proceeded inside to assist with checking for extension. A259's crew searched the house with negative results and ET254's crew quickly knocked a small fire on the deck. Command held units from 25, 15 and TWR23 to ventilate and finish checking the house. No extension was found and after about 30 minutes units began to clear.
