New Market Volunteers Conduct Drafting Drill

On Monday September 3rd at 1030 hours, RE153(Sgt. Thews) loaded up with 5 volunteers and headed to the Frederick County Public Safety Training Academy for some training. Lieutenant Jeff Broyles is currently in the process of becoming a NMVFD engine driver and needed some additional time drafting and flowing a variety of hose lines. The crew set up to draft off of the front intake and set up three hose lines to discharge the water. The crew flowed water for about thirty minutes before cleaning up and going over some key features and knowledge of RE153. The drill was concluded at 1200 hours. It was a learning experience for all involved. Many thanks to Technician Bruce Johnson for taking the time to pass on his vast skills and knowledge from his over 40 years of fire service experience.
