One Ejected and Pinned Under Jeep on Jesse Smith Road

On Tuesday March 23rd at 1910 hours units were alerted for a vehicle overturned with one pinned underneath in the 12300 block of Jesse Smith Road. A159 (FF Mele), RE153 (Sgt. Hanagan), E152 (Chief Nalborczyk), C15-1 (DFC Moe), C15-2 (AFC Betts), and D15 (Lt. Conaway) responded on the call with with a total of 16 volunteers. C15-1 arrived first to find a jeep rolled over at the end of a driveway and confirmed the reports of a subject ejected and partially pinned underneath. C15-1 established the Jesse Smith Road Command and requested aviation for the Category A Priority 1 trauma patient. ET254 and C15-2 established the helicopter landing zone at the Old National Pike Park. RE153 and E152 arrived, going to work stabilizing and extricating the patient. C15 (FC Nalborczyk) was assigned as the Rescue Group supervisor. The crews utilized the paratech high pressure air bags to lift the vehicle off the patient. The patient was extricated within ten minutes of arrival. The patient was transferred to the care of A159 and CCM1, then transported to the landing zone. Trooper 3 transported the patient to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD. Good work by all crews in successfully rescuing this patient.
