On Tuesday May 2, 2017, units were alerted to a vehicle fire with exposure to a house in the 6100 Block of Quinn Road in the 33-02 box area. E152(DFRS Capt Cave), RS15(Sgt Chapman), and D15(Capt Thews) responded with 8 personnel. CCE12, who was transferred to FS33 while city units operated on a hazmat incident, was first due on the assignment. Duty 15 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of a two story single family home and established command. Command reported a lawn mover and brush on fire to the side of the residence, with flames impinging on the structure. CCE12 arrived simultaneously and deployed an attack line to the rear of the home. The fire was quickly knocked, with E152 assisting with containment. RS15's crew checked for extension into the walls and interior of the home, which was negative. Crews operated for about 25 minutes before returning to service.
