On Sunday the 21st, eighteen (18) volunteers loaded up and took in the trip to Springfield, Virginia to Washington Gas's PipeTown Facility for both classroom and live gas emergency training. While at the drill members drilled on gas properties, handling gas emergencies, meter types, gas line construction and pressures, active leak management, gas company notification procedures and live gas fed fire scenarios, members drilled for five (5) hours on the subject at hand. The New Market District VFC Co.15 is very grateful for this training opportunity that was afforded to us by Washington Gas and this would have not been possible without the help of Boonsboro VFC - Station 8 Rohrersville - Engine 81 who filled our quarters while we attended the drill, they responded to a medical emergency while we were out drilling and accompanied us to a working building fire just moments after our return to quarters.
