DFRS Staff and Volunteers Extinguish Several Fires

On Friday June 2nd around 1215hrs ET154(DFRS Capt Newman) and B156(Capt Thews) were alerted for the report of a Large Outside Brush Fire at Bussard Brothers Mulch, C15(FC Nalborczyk), C15-1(DFC Moe) and D15(LT Bowles) responded on the run with eight (8) personnel. First arriving B156 found a large mulch pile with fire showing, B156 requested the assistance of an additional Engine, Aerial Tower bringing ET254(DFRS LT Neary) and TWR735. C15 arrived on the scene and assumed Command requesting a BLS unit bringing A159(DFRS PFF Hall) and C15-2(AFC Betts). C15-1 arrived and assumed the Suppression Group Supervisor role while D15 assumed the position of the Incident Scene Safety Officer. Units operated for roughly 45 minutes before going in service.

Shortly after returning to service from the Mulch Fire ET154(DFRS Capt Newman) and A159(DFRS PFF Hall) were alerted at 1430hrs to the intersection of Detrick Rd and Knoll Rd for an auto fire, C15(FC Nalborczyk) and C15-1(DFC Moe) also responded on the run, first arriving C15-1 found a fire in the Engine compartment extending to the passenger compartment. ET154 arrived and extinguished fire.

While on the scene A159 was cleared to respond to Carroll County for a medical emergency.

During both of these responses RS15 remained staffed in quarters awaiting the next call for service with volunteer staffing
