On Wednesday June 14th at approximately 0330 hours, units were alerted to a possible building fire at the Costco Warehouse on Intercoastal Drive in New Market. E152(Capt. Thews), RS15 (Sgt. Chapman), and C15-1 (DFC Moe) responded on the assignment with 7 volunteers. A159 was already on a separate assignment. While enroute, a second box alarm was struck in Co. 25's first due area for a house on fire. Units arrived at Costco and quickly realized that there was no fire at that location, and the call was good intent. All units from that box re-routed to the house fire, which was in the 11700 Block of Ridgeway Court. C15-1 and BAT901 arrived at the same time, reporting a large two story single family house fully involved. C15-1 established the Ridgeway Court Command. E152 arrived as the first due engine and laid a supply line from the end of the driveway. E152 began fire attack and exposure protection with two hand lines, due to the limited water supply. RS15 arrived as the second unit on scene and performed forcible entry through the garage door among other tasks. A tanker task force was requested and tanker shuttle operations were set up. Crews operated on the scene for several hours, eventually utilizing TWR23 as an elevated master stream. The attack remained entirely defensive throughout, due to the extreme spread of the fire. The last units left the scene around 0830 hours, with the FM's office investigating well into the day.
