June 18, 2017

At 0536 hours on Sunday, June 18th, Company 15 units were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Interstate 70 westbound in the area of the 63 mile marker. A159, RS15, E152, C15, C15-1, and C15-2 responded on the run. Units arrived to find a single vehicle on its roof in the trees. A single patient was found to be suffering from traumatic injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. C15-1 established the initial command, which was passed to C15 upon his arrival. C15-1 then led the Rescue Group, with RS15 and E152. Crews stabilized the car and then removed a door to access the occupant. E152 also stood by with a charged hose line. The extrication took about 5 minutes and the patient was transported by ground to a trauma center.
