The New Market Volunteers attended the 125th Maryland State Fireman's Association convention over the past week, and the annual parade held on Wednesday June 21st. At the convention, New Market District VFC once again took home the Zembower Memorial Training Award. This award is given to the department in the state with the most training hours per member over the last year. We held this honor last year, and we are proud to have once again brought home this award to our hard working membership.

At the annual fireman's parade, the New Market Volunteers attended with A159, B156, RS15, and E152. This is the largest gathering of NMDVFC apparatus at this parade in a number of years. The members put in a lot of work to make sure the rigs were clean and shined up, and their hard work paid off, as each unit took home an award during the parade.

Engine 152 - 2nd Best Appearing Pumper 1500 gpm and over
Rescue Squad 15 - 2nd Best Appearing Rescue Squad
Ambulance 159 - 2nd Best Appearing Ambulance
Brush 156 - 3rd Best Appearing Brush Unit 100 gpm and over

The members were also able to catch up members from Hollywood VFC and their new rescue Squad 7. As you may know, Rescue Squad 15 was purchased from Hollywood VFC, and this was our first opportunity to see the old and the new side by side. The members of both companies enjoyed the fellowship and took a few pictures of the rigs together.

Great work everyone!
