On Saturday October 14th at 1135 hours, RS15 was alerted to respond along with Mount Airy and Damascus to the 29000 block of Ridge Road for a vehicle collision with entrapment. RS15 (Capt Thews) and C15-3 (AFC Kennedy) responded with 5 volunteers. Co.13 arrived to find a head on collision with multiple patients and one pinned. RS15 and C15-3 arrived and were assigned to the rescue group under C717B (Sutton). CCR1's crew also assisted with the extrication, which involved removing the front doors, removing the front portion of the roof, rolling the dash, and cutting the driver's seat back to remove the patient. The extrication took about 15 minutes after arrival. A159 was also requested to handle one of the multiple patients, and ended up transporting the extricated patient to Shock Trauma. Crews cleared a short time later. C713B (Browning) held the Ridge Road command.
