On Wednesday December 6th at 0245 hours, units from New Market and Mount Airy were alerted for a vehicle accident on I-70 westbound just prior to Route 75. A159 (EMS Sgt. Cribb), RS15 (FF3 Williamson), E152 (FF3 White), and C15-3 (AFC Kennedy) responded with 14 volunteers. Co. 15 arrived on the scene to find a car vs. a tractor trailer with two occupants in the car. RS15 established the I-70 command and reported one patient trapped. RS15 went to work extricating the patient, removing the passenger side door to free the patient. Both patient were transported to area hospitals and units cleared a short time later.
