On December 31st at 0640 hours, units from Frederick City were alerted for an apartment fire at the Detrick Plaza Apartments on West 7th Street. Units arrived to find fire showing from the top floor apartment of a three story garden apartment building. A rapid intervention dispatch was requested by command, bringing RS15 (FC Nalborczyk), which was clearing a rollover collision in Bartonsville. RS15 formed a part of the rapid intervention group upon arrival and performed those duties throughout the incident. Quick work was made of the fire and the RID units were cleared a short time later.
