Additional resources were requested including a second BLS unit and aviation for a trauma patient. B156 (Tech. White) established a landing zone at Deer Crossing Elementary School. RS15 and E152 worked to extricate the driver of the garbage truck, whose legs were pinned by the dash of the truck. A door pop was performed and the dash board was pushed off the driver utilizing a hydraulic ram. The driver was extricated in about 5 minutes. Both patients were transported and one was flown by MSP Trooper 3 to a trauma center.
