On Saturday February 24th, 2018 the New Market District Volunteer Fire Company held their 63rd Annual Banquet program. During the event the members and guest enjoyed a great meal prepared and served by Olde Towne Caterings of Mount Airy, MD. The members had much to look back upon and reflect on many administrative, fundraising and operational accomplishments throughout calendar year 2017 and both President Hackey and Chief Nalborczyk delivered their vision statements for 2018 to the hard working members of the department. It was also made very well known during the program that we are our community and each and every one of our accomplishments were made possible because of the ongoing community support and involvement. Chaplain White led the department in a Memorial Service for Beverly Hubble and Louise "Margaret" Main who both passed this past year. The following awards were given during our awards program: Life Membership: Presidents Award: Presidents Appreciation Awards: Top 10 Combined Responders: Top 5 EMS Responders: Chief's Award: Officer of the Year: Rookie of the Year: EMT of the Year: Firefighter of the Year: Career Member of the Year: Heart of a Volunteer Award: Outgoing Operational Service Award: Years of Service Awards Program: Five (5) Years: Ten (10) Years: Fifteen (15) Years: Twenty (20) Years: Twenty-Five (25) Years: Thirty (30) Years: Thirty-Five (35) Years: Fourty (40) Years: Fifty (50) Years: Fifty-Five (55) Years: We also want to Thank the following departments for their assistance covering our apparatus while we enjoyed our annual banquet, United Steam Fire Co.3, Laytonsville District VFD Co.17, Vigilant Hose Co.6, Thurmont Community Ambulance Co.30 and Hollywood VFD Co.7. Without their support our night would not have been possible. |
