On Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 0139 hours, RS15 was alerted to respond along with Co. 33 and 3 units to Interstate-70 westbound at Linganore Road for a collision involving a tractor trailer rollover. RS15 (FC Nalborczyk) and C15-1 (DFC Kennedy) responded with five volunteers and were advised while enroute that patients were reported trapped in separate vehicles. BAT901 (BC Barnes) arrived to find a two vehicle collision, with a patient trapped in a tractor trailer on its side and three patients trapped in a vehicle on its roof. RS15 was tasked by command with starting extrication on the passenger car. A159 was dispatched to the call and responded with two additional volunteers. RS15 and C15-1 worked quickly to stabilize and extricate the patients from car, which required removing two doors and the "B" post from the driver side. They then moved operations to the tractor trailer, removing the roof of the truck to extricate the patient. This process took 50 minutes to complete. MCPRE709 assisted with the extrication on the tractor trailer. The patients were transported to area hospitals, and one patient was flown via MSP Trooper 2 to a trauma center. RS15 cleared a short time later.
