The New Market District Volunteer Fire Company has recently purchased a 2018 RAM 1500 Truck that was converted into an emergency vehicle by Front Line Emergency Vehicles, Inc of Ontario, Canada. This vehicle is another much needed vehicle to assist in reducing the workload of present vehicles that serve dual purpose, our current Utility Truck (2004 Ford) has been serving as both our Boat Support Unit and Utility since purchased, with recently increase in Water Rescue events in the region and great dependence upon New Market Volunteer's Water Rescue Team, this drove the need to purchase an additional Support Unit in order to support our Technical Rescue needs. This units primary mission is as a Water Rescue Support Unit, however the vehicle will be equipped with a large amount of Rope Rescue equipment, Basic Life Support Equipment, etc, thus making this vehicles multi-functional. The Support Unit has already been lettered by Airport View Signs of Frederick and work is ongoing by our Special Operations Division fabricating the storage area in the bed of the unit. Soon the unit will travel to Priority Install of Gaithersburg, MD for additional scene lights, warning lights and some additional up fitting in order for the vehicle to completely meet the needs of our department and those in need. New Market District Volunteer Fire Company is extremely proud to say this unit was paid off at purchase, thus placing no additional strain on our annual capital budget, this would not be possible without the ongoing support of our community.
