On Wednesday October 24th at 1124 hours, Box 17-24 was alerted for the mobile home fire in the 14400 block of Black Ankle Road in Unionville. E152 (DFRS Capt. Scott) and C15 (FC Nalborczyk) responded to replace units that had failed to respond on the first alarm assignment, but E152 was moved to the rapid intervention dispatch while responding. RS15 (DFC Kennedy) also responded on the RID with 4 volunteers but was placed in service prior to arrival. Co. 17 units arrived to find a double wide house trailer fully involved and began an exterior attack. C15 arrived as the first command officer and assumed the Black Ankle Road command. Units worked quickly to extinguish the fire and treat a resident for burn injuries. The patient was transported to an area hospital by MSP Trooper 1. A159 (DFRS) also responded on the call to assist as an additional BLS unit. E152 assisted with fire extinguishment and overhaul activities until being released by command.
