On Tuesday April 16th at 0802 hours, Rescue Squad 15 and Chief 15-3 responded to assist Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company with a vehicle accident with entrapment on Mt. Airy Drive in Carroll County. RS15 was requested as a 2nd Rescue Squad about an hour into the extrication, and arrived to find crews hard at work trying to extricate a single patient pinned by his feet after colliding with a tree. The Shock Trauma Go-Team was on scene along with MSP Troopers 1 and 3. After arriving, the Co.15 units assisted with the final steps of the extrication, removing a pedal to free the patient and then moving the patient out of the vehicle. The patient was transported to Shock Trauma. Crews spent well over an hour on this difficult extrication.
