On Sunday June 9th at 1250 hours, RS15 was alerted along with units from Co. 25 and Medic 23 for a vehicle accident with entrapment on Green Valley Road at I-70. A159 and E152 were already handling a call for an unconscious subject in New Market, so A158 and RS15 took the call. Between the two responses, over 18 New Market Volunteers were staffing the rigs.

RS15 arrived along with Chief 717B (Burns) from Laytonsville to find a two vehicle head-on collision with one patient trapped. RS15 quickly removed the drivers door of an SUV to gain access to the patient, who was turned over to A158’s crew for treatment. The patient was transported priority two to a local hospital. C717B held the Green Valley Road command.

This incident once again demonstrated New Market VFC’s commitment to staffing a second ambulance to better serve our citizens.
