On May 27th 2019, Volunteers, family, and Friends of New Market Volunteer Fire Company participated in the Annual Fishing Trip. This is more then just an opportunity to go fishing it is a time when the volunteers can kick back, relax, and have a good time. Although our volunteers are only required a 12 hour Duty Crew Shift each week, many of them far exceed that. Being a volunteer means you are always "on call" and ready to serve when the call comes in.
This Chesapeake Bay Fishing Trip was arranged and paid for from volunteers. A BIG thank you to the boat crew, Bay Hunter II, for taking care of everything for us. They are awesome with providing a great trip. It is unbelievable how so many fishing lines can be run off 1 boat. After a full day of fishing many fish were inside the coolers but, most importantly many of our volunteers had a great time and have a new memories of something other then work.
