On Sunday ( 02-08-2026 ) @ 1649 hours BOX alarm 1-15 was alerted for a house fire in the 600 block of south main street in the Frederick county side ( Box 15-27 ) of Mount airy.

Unit's from Mount airy arrived to find a 2 1/2 story balloon frame constructed dwelling with smoke showing and fire running the Alpha side wall extending to the front porch roof.

E-153 arrived and attempted to lay out from a hydrant however the hydrant was frozen , so the crew went to the scene and were advised by command to assist with taking a line to the front porch and assist with opening up the porch roof and walls.

Rescue squad 15 and A-158 responded on the RIT dispatch.

E-153 worked for a little over an hour and was placed in service by command.
