On Wednesday afternoon at 1527 hours units were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Interstate 70 Westbound in the area of the 61 mile marker. A159(FF Metzger), RE153(Lt. Shippey), ET154(Lt. Thews), C15(Nalborczyk), C15-2(Betts), and CAPT15(Lawson) responded on the call with 14 personnel. RE153 arrived first to find an SUV that had rolled over and come to a rest on the right hand shoulder. CAPT15 arrived and established the I-70 Command. RE153 stabilized the vehicle as A159 evaluated the single patient still in the vehicle. ET154 pulled a protection line, assisted with removing the patient from the vehicle and spinal immobilization. The patient was transported by A159 to a local hospital with BLS only injuries after M2 assessed the patient. Units cleared a short time later and turned the scene over to CHART and the Maryland State Police.
