On Tuesday March 4th at 0353 hours units were alerted on Box 17-44 to the 13600 Block of Glissans Mill Road for a barn fire. RE153(Sgt. Chapman), ET154(Capt. Broyles), C15-1(DFC Moe), and D15(Capt. Thews) responded with 13 volunteers. While enroute units were advised that multiple calls were received and it was believed to be a working fire. The tanker task force and rapid intervention dispatch were requested. This brought A159(EMT Strong) to the call with 3 additional volunteers. Units arrived to find a 60x60 barn fully involved in fire. D15 arrived and established the Glissans Mill Road Command. RE153 and ET154 began a defensive attack utilizing a combination of deck gun and hand line operations. RE153-A was the fire attack group leader. C15-1 assumed the command upon his arrival and D15 was reassigned as the water supply officer. Crews operated for about 2 hours before all of the fire was extinguished. Command was eventually transitioned to BAT902(BC Coe). Carroll County Decon 30 was utilized for rehab. Units cleared around 0630 hours. Great job by all.
