Busy Sunday for New Market Volunteers

Sunday March 23rd was a busy day for the New Market Volunteers. Between 1300 hours on Sunday afternoon and 0530 hours Monday morning the station handled nine calls, including three box alarms and one structure assignment. Here is a recap:

3/23/14 - 1319 hours - 6100 Block of Mississippi Lane - Unconscious Overdose -
A159 & RE153 responded with a total of 10 volunteers

3/23/14 - 1324 hours - 7th Street & Main Street - Chimney Fire - (Structure 15-01) -
E152, RE153 & C15-1 responded with a total of 14 volunteers. Determined to be a good intent call after homeowner added wood to fireplace. C15-1 held command.

3/23/14 - 1622 hours - 6200 Block of Detrick Road - Barn Fire - (Box 15-07) -
E152, RE153, A159, U15 & C15-1 responded with a total of 17 volunteers. Units found a dryer fire and extinguished the same. C15-1 held command.

3/23/14 - 1702 hours - Route 75 at Interstate 70 - Vehicle Accident -
A159, RE153 & C15-1 responded with a total of 10 volunteers. One patient was treated and transported to the hospital.

3/23/14 - 1807 hours - 5700 Block of Bucks Run Trail - Smoke in House - (Box 15-02) -
E152, A159 & C15-1 responded with a total of 10 volunteers. Units were dispatched for a home fire alarm, found smoke conditions upon arrival, and filled the box. Crews found fire on the stove and removed the hazard. Command held the box to E152 only. C15-1 held command.

3/23/14 - 1911 hours - 6100 Block of Springwater Place - Smoke from the House - (Box 33-01) -
E152 & C15-1 responded with 7 volunteers. Units found steam from the dryer vent and cleared the box as a good intent call.

3/23/14 - 1922 hours - 6500 Block of Edgewood Road - Sick Person -
A159 responded with 3 volunteers.

3/23/14 - 2005 hours - Interstate 70 Westbound at Exit 68 - Vehicle Fire -
E152, RE153, B156 & C15-1 responded with 13 volunteers. Crews found an overheated vehicle and cleared all units.

3/24/14 - 0533 hours - 6600 Block of High Beach Court East - Vehicle Lock-out -
RE153 responded with 4 volunteers and assisted a citizen locked out of a vehicle.

All in all it was a very busy day in New Market. Thanks to all those who came out to serve the community.
