On Thursday September 11th, 2014 fellow Fire, EMS, Police and members of the community gathered at the New Market Fire Station to remember the tragic events of 9/11/01. Several speakers were in attendance at this event including the Mayor from Thurmont who recalled his personal story of being at the Pentagon. New Market District Volunteer Fire Department was very honored to host this event and has a solid commitment to never forgetting the events of that day.
