With a impending bridge closure upon us the New Market Volunteers geared up to place additional Fire and EMS coverage in place on the North Side of the Boyers Mill Rd bridge. In all over 20+ volunteers pulled together in revolving shifts to the timely services deserved by the citizens North of the Bridge. Units were staged at the Lake Linganore Association Building and we are very appreciative of their use of the facility during this closure. During their time on the Lake Linganore Stand-by the Engine and Ambulance only received one call for service to respond to RT26 and Old Annapolis Rd for an Auto Fire. The Volunteers at New Market District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company pride themselves in assuring that the citizens of their primary serving area and surrounding mutual aid areas receive the most prompt service possible. This coverage would also have not been possible if it were not due to the assistance of Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company Co.21 who provided the Engine coverage Saturday while our volunteers attended mandatory fit testing and Ebola training.
