At approximately 1330 hours units from Montgomery County station 17 were alerted for a brush fire in the 7200 block of Damascus Road in the Etchison community. First arriving units found 25 acres of field on fire and quickly called for additional resources. B156 (FF D. White) was dispatched at 1405 hours to assist and responded with 2 volunteers. U15 (FF Williamson) also responded with 4 additional volunteers. B156 arrived on scene to find a very large brush fire consisting of approximately 4 separate large fields & 6 separate areas of woods. Command immediately assigned B156 to the southern division to work with other units to contain fire from jumping the power line road to a residential area. After successfully completing that assignment, B-156 was reassigned to work at other multiple locations to contain fire and protect surrounding exposures & houses. During the woods attack, B156 had approximately 400 feet of hose laid out combining all forestry attack line connected to the extended booster reel line.

U15 arrived on scene shortly thereafter. U15 crew utilized hand tools and bladder bags off of B156 and was assigned to assisting in suppressing remaining fire and hot spots. Command thanked the company 15 crews for our hard work and arriving manpower. Both units cleared the call at approximately 2000 hours.

As the county became depleted of resources, Co. 15 was alerted to transfer an engine to Montgomery Station 9. E152 (Sgt Hanagan) responded on the transfer with a crew of 4 volunteers. E152 remained at Station 9 for several hours before returning to service. No calls were handled while at Station 9.
