Building Fire in Frederick City

On Tuesday May 19th just after 0130 hours units were alerted for a building fire in the 300 Block of Selwyn Drive in Frederick City. With most of the city units operating on another fire just blocks away, units from surrounding companies, including New Market were alerted. E152 (Sgt. Thews) and D15 (Lt. Conaway) responded with 7 volunteers. TR41 arrived first o the scene to find fire in the walls and void spaces in between the 2nd and 3rd floors. E152 (dispatched 5th due) arrived as the 3rd engine and assumed the RIC responsibilities. RE153 (FF Williamson) was dispatched to fill the rescue squad assignment and responded with 6 additional volunteers. RE153 assisted with opening up on the interior and controlling utilities. The fire was controlled a short time later and units cleared around 0400.
