Vehicle Collsion on Interstate 70 Sends Two to Hospital

On Tuesday June 2nd at 0210 hours units from Spring Ridge and New Market were alerted for a vehicle accident with one unconscious on Interstate 70 Eastbound at the 62 Mile Marker. A159 (Lt. Williamson), RE153 (Sgt. Thews), E152 (AFC Thews), and C15-4 (AFC Kennedy) responded on the call with 15 volunteers. Co. 33 units arrived to find a single vehicle into the guardrail with two patients in the vehicle. E331 established the I-70 Command. The co. 15 units arrived and assisted with evaluating and removing 2 patients from the vehicle. Both patients required ALS and were transported by A339 and A159. Crews remained on the scene for about a half an hour.
