On Sunday June 14th just after 1100 hours units from New Market, Green Valley, and Mount Airy were alerted for a vehicle accident on Interstate 70 Eastbound in the area of the 62 mile marker. A159 and RE153 were already committed to two separate calls, so Co. 15 was dispatched solely for an engine. E152(AFC Thews), B156(Chief Nalborczyk), U15(FF G. White), D15(Capt. Conaway), and C15-2(AFC Betts) responded with 12 volunteers. E152 arrived to find the collision in the eastbound lanes near Adventure Park. Units encountered multiple patients as they arrived. D15 established the I-70 command and requested additional resources. In all, six patients were treated and transported to area hospitals. Units cleared around 1145 hours.
