On Thursday June 25th at 0232 hours units from Co. 15 were alerted for a tractor trailer on fire at the Costco Warehouse on Intercoastal Drive. E152(AFC Thews), RE153(FF Heller), B156(Lt. Williamson), and A159(FC Nalborczyk) responded on the call with 15 volunteers. While enroute ECC advised units that they had reports of one trailer on fire with fire spreading to nearby trees and four other tractor trailers. E152 requested a truck company to assist. E152 arrived to find a trailer well off with no exposure issues and established the Costco Command. E152 laid out from a hydrant and stretched a line to attack the fire. RE153 deployed a second attack line from E152 and supplied water from the hydrant. The fire was knocked down within ten minutes and command held the units on scene. The cause of the fire was found to be sticking trailer brakes.
