Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, the New Market Volunteers were dispatched for a tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 70 Eastbound at the Scale House. RE153(Lt Hanagan), E152(Sgt Kline), A159(EMT Smith), and D15(Lt Williamson) responded with 14 volunteers. Units arrived at the 66 MM with a tractor trailer on its side in the median with one patient pinned. RE153's crew began stabilizing with struts and a tie back system. After stabilizing the crews from RE153 and CCR1 worked together to access the patient and roll the dash to free the patient. Extrication took about 30 minutes in total. The patient was transported priority 2 to Shock Trauma by Trooper 3. Hazmat teams were also called to the scene to handle pumping off the diesel fuel in the saddle tanks of the truck. Units cleared around 0200 hours. CCC1(Stull) held the I-70 Command.
