On Saturday January 30th at 1229 hours Box 15-16 was sounded for the basement fire in a house in the 10300 block of Greenlea Court in the Lake Linganore Meadows subdivision. E152(Capt. Conaway), B156(FF G. White), A159(Capt. Nalborczyk), C15-1(DFC Moe), and D15(Lt. Williamson) responded on the box with 13 volunteers. E152 arrived on the scene to find smoke showing from 2 story split level home. The crew confirmed a working fire in the basement that was extending to the first floor. D15 arrived and established the Greenlea Court Command, which was promptly transferred to C15-1. Command now reported fire showing from three sides of the house. D15 assumed the role of the division 1 supervisor. Crews worked to contain the fire, but were hindered by fire hydrants buried in the snow and a well advanced fire. Command eventually requested additional companies for manpower and a fire task force. All occupants were accounted for and the fire was controlled by 1430 hours. Good work by all involved.
