On Saturday March 26th at 1415 hours, Box 33-7 was sounded for a commercial building fire at the Frederick County Landfill on Reichs Ford Road. E152 (Sgt. Kline) responded as the 4th due engine on the box with 6 volunteers. Units from Co. 33 arrived to find a tractor trailer on fire outside of the transfer building. Units also found several pieces of machinery and equipment on fire inside the transfer building. Multiple attack lines and master streams were set up to knock the fire. E152 established a water supply via the on-site pond at the landfill, while the crew assisted with knocking the fire. The Rapid Intervention Dispatch was requested very early in the incident, bringing RE153 (FF3 Reid), C15-1 (DFC Moe), and D15 (Lt. Williamson) with 7 additional volunteers. Crews operated for over an hour extinguishing and overhauling the affected areas.
