Vehicle Accident with Flyout in Ijamsville

On Saturday April 2nd at 0140 hours Co. 15 was alerted for wires down from a property damage vehicle collision in the 4700 block of Mussetter Road in Ijamsville. RE153 (Sgt. Chapman) responded with 5 volunteers. While enroute the call was upgraded to an injured person from the collision, bringing A159 (Capt. Nalborczyk), E152 (Lt. Williamson), and D15 (Capt. Conaway) with 10 additional volunteers to the call. RE153 arrived to find a car sitting in the road after striking a telephone pole and a parked vehicle. The occupant had a possible head injury, so ALS was requested. Wires were also down across the roadway. Duty 15 arrived and established command, requesting aviation for a priority 1 category A trauma patient. Trooper 3 responded and E251 set up a landing zone at the Saint Ignatius Roman Catholic Church on Route 80. The patient was packaged and transported to the landing zone by A159. Units cleared the call around 0300 hours.
