On Thursday April 28th at 2132 hours units from New Market and Mount Airy were dispatched to Interstate 70 Westbound at the 66 mile marker for a vehicle accident. A159(EMT Strong), RE153(Capt. Conaway), E152(Sgt. Kline), C15(Chief Nalborczyk), and C15-1(DFC Moe) responded on the call with 16 volunteers. Co. 15 units arrived to find an SUV vs. a tractor trailer with one patient injured. The incident was quickly scaled back to Co. 15 units only and A159 transported the patient to a local hospital. Incidents involving tractor trailers have been on the rise in the past few years and we are glad this one was not more serious.
