Rescue Squad & Deputy Chief Go to Mount Airy for the House Fire

On Sunday June 6th at 0837 hours, units from Carroll and Howard Counties were alerted for a house fire in the 6400 block of Davis Road in the 1-7 box area of Mount Airy. First arriving units from Mount Airy found a two story house with fire showing from the second floor. The rapid intervention dispatch and tanker task force were requested quickly by command, Carroll Chief 1-2 (Browning). RE153 (Sgt. Thews) responded as the squad on the RID, along with C15-1 (DFC Moe) with 7 volunteers. Upon arrival RE153 was tasked with assisting first alarm units with overhaul efforts. Crews spent a couple hours knocking hot spots and checking for extension. The Co. 15 units returned to service around 1030 hours.
