At 1455 hours on Monday June 13th Co. 15 and other units were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Interstate 70 Eastbound at the 62 mile marker. A159, RE153, E152, C15-2, and CAR15 responded with 12 personnel. Co. 15 units arrived and reported a van rolled over with one patient trapped. Aviation was requested for the trapped patient, who was unconscious. A second patient was treated by A159. The Co. 15 units worked to stabilize the van with Rescue 42 struts due to its precarious position, and then rapidly extricated the patient by removing the drivers door. The trapped patient was found to be in cardiac arrest and CPR was attempted, but the patient did not respond. Our prayers go out to the victims family.
