Two Trapped on Green Valley Road

At 1806 hours on Saturday June 25th units were alerted to a vehicle accident with reported two patients pinned at Green Valley Road and Old New Market Road. A159(FF Rosebrock), RE153(FFIII Bowles), U15 & C15(FC Nalborczyk), C15-2(AFC Betts), C15-3(AFC Kennedy), and D15(Capt. Conaway) responded with 20 volunteers. Units arrived to find a three vehicle head-on collision with persons trapped in two separate vehicles. Both patients required a door pop to remove them and both were serious trauma patients. Aviation was requested by command and the landing zone was established by RE171 at the Grace Episcopal Church. The trapped patients were freed within 5 minutes and transported to the landing zone. Two additional BLS units were requested to treat and transport 3 "walking wounded" patients. Trooper 3 transported one trauma patient to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Units cleared the scene at 1900 hours. Chief 15 held the Green Valley Road Command.

E152 and B156 were committed to a parade detail in Emmitsburg during this call with 7 additional volunteers.
