On Saturday November 12th the New Market Volunteers held a company level drill on the topic of victims pinned underneath vehicles. Captain Thews led the drill , which focused on a few different scenarios, and some of the multiple ways we have of extricating the victim. The part of the victim was played by a "hose dummy." The crew spent time with stabilizing, lifting, cutting, and accounting for unexpected changes during the extrication. In the end, everyone learned something, with some newer members taking away a lot of new knowledge. The New Market Volunteers hold company level drills at least twice a month to ensure we stay up to date with the numerous aspects of our service.
