January 15, 2019

At 1221 hours on Tuesday January 15th, Co. 15 units along with Medic 1 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Route 75 and Interstate 70. Chief 15 (FC Nalborczyk) arrived to find a two vehicle t-bone collision with one patient trapped and another walking wounded.

RS15 (DFRS Capt Davis) and E152 (AFC Thews) worked together to extricate the patient, who was suffering from traumatic injuries. Crews performed a full side removal and the patient was extracted in about 5 minutes. Aviation was requested by command, and a landing zone was established by E152 on Baldwin Road East. The patient was flown by MSP Trooper 3 to a trauma center and all units cleared. Chief 15 held the Route 75 command.

Please keep the patients and their families in your prayers this evening as they recover from their injuries.
