As you may have seen on May 5th, 2019, the New Market Volunteers, with assistance from staff of the Frederick County, MD Public Safety Training Facility, conducted live burn evolutions on an acquired structure in our first due area. The crews conducted multiple burn evolutions and at the end of the day, allowed the structure to burn down in order to destroy it. New Market VFC has not conducted live burn training in an acquired structure for over 15 years, so this was a unique opportunity for us.

Development will soon take place on the site by Dynamic Automotive. We thank them for allowing us the opportunity to use the house for training.

Special thanks goes out to Rocky Ridge VFC for filling in at Station 15 with Engine 133 while our volunteers and apparatus were committed to the training. Thanks also goes to Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Co. for providing apparatus to assist with the drill. One more thanks goes to Michael Skahill and his Smokin Hot BBQ team for providing lunch too the crews today.

Below you will see photos taken by our volunteers and also photos taken by Frederick.Com
