On Monday November 18th at 1456 hours, units from the four county area were alerted on Carroll County Box Alarm 1-2 for the trailer fire to the rear of 7912 Circle Drive in Mount Airy. E152 (DFRS Capt Brown) was alerted 4th due on the initial assignment and responded, arriving as the 3rd engine. While enroute, the Mount Airy units requested the RID due to multiple calls and smoke on the horizon. RS15 (Capt Williamson), C15-1 (DFC Kennedy), and C15-2 (AFC Bowles) responded with 7 volunteers on the RID. Rescue 1 from MAVFC arrived and began an exterior to interior transitional attack, with Chief 1-2 assuming command. E152 assisted with the interior attack and RS15 assuming the duties of the RIT team. C15-2 was assigned as fire attack. Crews made quick work of the fire. RS15 would eventually rotate in to assist with knocking down hot spots and opening up to check for extension. Crews operated for about two hours before clearing the scene.
