Volunteers Run Mutual Aid to Carroll County for Hazmat Alarm

On Sunday July 19th at 0331 hours, Ambulance 159 was alerted to respond to 1100 blk of Village Gate Drive for an inhalation emergency. While in route, the assignment was upgraded to a hazmat alarm. This brought Engine 152 and Rescue Squad 15 to the call. Units from Mount Airy arrived to find a two story single-family dwelling with a chemical odor on the second floor. CCA18, MCM713, and A159 initiated patient care. Carroll Duty 1 arrived and established the command. Engine 152 And Rescue Squad 15 were assigned to the Recon Group along with Carroll Hazmat 30. Units located a mixture of chemicals on the second floor, mitigated the hazards and ventilated the structure. Units operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
