The New Market District VFC extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Charter Member Barbara Zimmerman. Mrs. Zimmerman passed away on 08/12/2021 surrounded by her loved ones.

Barbara joined the Auxiliary in 1955 as a Charter Member. Her late husband Gene was a Charter Member of the fire company as well. She held various offices in that group as well as the Frederick County Fire & Rescue Association Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years, Barbara played a huge part in the restoration of Engine 151.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 17th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Keeney & Basford P. A. Funeral Home (106 E Church St, Frederick, MD 21701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 18th 2021 at 11:00 AM at the New Market United Methodist Church (5501 Old New Market Rd, New Market, MD 21774). If you are planning to attend the funeral, please wear a mask.
