New Market Fire Makes a Quick Stop on Building Fire

At 2219 hours New Market D.V.F.C. and Mount Airy V.F.D. were alerted for smoke coming from an unattached large shop building. Chief-15(FC Nalborczyk) established command asked Engine-153(AFC Williamson) to provided a 360 of the structure. The building was approx. 30 feet by 40 feet, with E153 Officer reporting smoke coming out of all four sides. The Rapid Intervention Dispatch was requested. Access was made at front of the building and E153 made a quick knock on the fire. Carroll County Engine 12 was two out. A lengthily overhaul was performed. The fire is under investigation by fire marshals office. Over 50 firefighters operated on scene. New Market Volunteers provided fifteen (15) personnel to this incident.
