On May 5th-7th 2023 Rescue Squad 15 with 4 volunteers travelled to Union Bridge in Carroll County for a combination rescue training. This training involved heavy lifting and vehicle extraction and stabilization. Crews utilized a variety of techniques and equipment to include Paratech struts, hydrafusion struts and Low pressure air bags to name a few. Both days consisted of rope rescues in the afternoon. Challenging terrain and lack of natural anchors made crews in stall several types of wedge anchors directly into rock. Crews completed 5 rescues over the 3 day class and spent about 24 hours to complete them.
