On Wednesday April 25th at 1650 hours Carroll County ECC alerted Box 1-15 for smoke in the house on South Warfield Drive in the town of Mt. Airy. This brought units from Frederick companies 15, 25, and 23. RE153(Lt. Leonard) responded with 5 personnel as the 2nd due engine on the box. First arriving CCE12 went on scene with smoke showing from the Delta side and laid out from the intersection of North Warfield Drive and South Warfield Drive. CCE12's crew stretched a line through the font door and were joined by three other NMDVFD members who were in the area. CCC1-2(Stull) arrived and assumed the Command. The rapid intervention dispatched was requested, bringing ET154(Chief Nalborczyk) to the call with a crew of 5. Interior crews quickly located a small fire in the attic and quickly extinguished it. Crews also secured the utilities, checked for extension, and completed a search of the house. Within 15 minutes command scaled back the box to Carroll Co. 1 and Howard Co. 4. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
